Catherine K. Kennedy, O.D.

Dr. Catherine Kennedy received her Optometric Degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, after earning her Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from the University of Texas. Her undergraduate education also included a year on the Munich, Germany campus of the University of Maryland. Before moving to Austin in 1988, Dr. Kennedy was affiliated with MacGregor Medical Association of Houston. Her areas of interest include specialty contact lenses and ocular pathology caused by systemic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Dr. Kennedy is married to a native Texan, David, and they enjoy sailing on Lake Travis.

Patrick R. Serafine, O.D.

Dr. Patrick Serafine is a 1980 Honors Graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry, and a native Texan, born in San Antonio. Before moving to Austin in 1994, he practiced in San Antonio in a variety of settings, including ophthalmological practices, and a military optometry clinic. He is a third generation optometrist, and his special interests include contact lenses for astigmatism, laser refractive surgery, and ocular pathology. Dr. Serafine is licensed as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and as a Therapeutic Optometrist. Before optometry college, Dr. Serafine majored in Biology, with emphasis in Microbiology and Biochemistry, and attended classes at Trinity University and the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is married to Lil, who is Director of Operations with Grace After Fire, and a consultant with Greenlights For Non-Profit Success, and John Churchill and Associates. They have three children, Katherine, Laura, and Tony. Dr. Serafine has published an article about Free-Form lens designs for ophthalmic lenses
